Bloom Day – March 2010

There have been plenty of changes since the snowdrops first came up a week ago, but not a lot of them are flowers.  The garden is full of green shoots, but it will be a while before they’re any more than the promise of flowers to come.  The snow is almost completely gone, but it’s a good bet that we’ll see some more before the next bloom day.

Big thanks as always to Carol for encouraging us to get out and see what’s blooming!

In bloom:

First crocus of the year
Crocus (only one for now)

Snowdrop by the lamppost
Snowdrop (in several different places in the front lawn)

  1. Hurray for snowdrops and crocuses! May the first shy entrants be followed by many more over the coming weeks.

  2. It’s amazing how fast things are sprouting now that the snow cover is gone. Hooray! Hopefully whatever snow we get after this will melt fast.

  3. Snowdrops galore in my yard too. Have been out chopping things down and noticing that good spring earth smell.

  4. No snowdrops in my garden, but if I keep reading about them I’m going to have to add some. I guess it is still too early for my garden since nothing is blooming out there.
