- tomatoes – let the CSA grow them because the squirrels always eat them here
- anything requiring full sun anywhere outside of the north bed (and even that is iffy)
- Phlox divaricata – at least see if any of the 5 plants I’ve put in all over the yard ever take off before buying any more!
- I think we have enough fennel plants now. I never bought any – they’re all volunteers – but I need to be more vicious about ripping them out even though the leaves and seeds smell and taste wonderful. On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind having them colonize the alley bed, which has been taken over by some sort of big plant with burs on it.

It looks like your phlox has obliged with an appearance. Good.

HI!
I’m not on the lake but can easily grow tons of tomatoes. I put them between our house and the neighbors. There’s not much room and we don’t get full sun but the heat from the brick exteriors must help quite a bit!
Just a thought.
Happy Gardening!

The tomato listing is separate from the full sun one – the problem with tomatoes is that the squirrels pull them off the vine, take a single bite out of them, and leave them on the fence to tease us!

I had squirrels do the same thing with strawberries. They’d take a single bite — sometimes not even bothering to take them off the vine. Maddening!
I just found your blog and love it!
